Computer-Supported Tools for the Conceptualization Phase

چکیده
Computer supported tools have failed to be of assistance to designers during the early, conceptual phase of design projects. Computer Aided Design applications have been criticised for their output, input, and interfaces, which are unexpressive and overly precise, under-sensitive, and distracting, respectively. In this paper we discuss some aspects of computer-supported tools as whole products rather than software programs, and discuss sample projects in which support for the designer is increased by enriching and integrating input, output, and processing to better match the user’s visual and motor

A grounded theory approach towards conceptualizing CIS for heterogeneous work communities
The notion of Common Information Space (CIS) is an area that has been gaining attention in the field of Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW) over the last few years. This paper discusses one aspect of the investigation being undertaken to develop the conceptualization of CIS pertaining to heterogeneous work communities. This is based on empirical study of collaborative decision making inv...
متن کاملA Petri-net based modeling tool, for analysis and evaluation of computer systems
Petri net is one of the most popular methods in modeling and evaluation of concurrent and event-based systems. Different tools have been created to support modeling and simulation of different extensions of Petri net in different applications. Each tool supports some extensions and some features. In this work a Petri net based modeling and evaluation tool is presented that not only supports dif...
متن کاملCommunication Model for the User Interface of a Shape Conceptualization System
It is commonly recognized that the user interfaces of recent CAD systems do not effectively support creative man-machine communication in the conceptual phase of the design process. At the same time, speech, hand sketching, claying, etc. are appropriate tools for communicating ideas among designers. The inherent vagueness of verbalism and hand movement is both tolerable and requested for the hu...
متن کاملThermoelastic Damping and Frequency Shift in Kirchhoff Plate Resonators Based on Modified Couple Stress Theory With Dual-Phase-Lag Model
The present investigation deals with study of thermoelastic damping and frequency shift of Kirchhoff plate resonators by using generalized thermoelasticity theory of dual-phase-lag model. The basic equations of motion and heat conduction equation are written with the help of Kirchhoff-Love plate theory and dual phase lag model. The analytical expressions for thermoelastic damping and frequency ...
متن کاملFeature Dimension Reduction of Multisensor Data Fusion using Principal Component Fuzzy Analysis
These days, the most important areas of research in many different applications, with different tools, are focused on how to get awareness. One of the serious applications is the awareness of the behavior and activities of patients. The importance is due to the need of ubiquitous medical care for individuals. That the doctor knows the patient's physical condition, sometimes is very important. O...
